The prostate is an exocrine gland of the male reproductive system. It is about the size of a walnut and is located just below the urinary bladder where it envelops the first part of the male urethra. The prostate gland produces a milky fluid that is expelled into the urethra to mix with sperm during ejaculation. This fluid serves as a lubricant and nourishment for the sperm.
